6 Days Murchison Falls and Chimpanzee trekking Safari

Murchison Falls National Park, also known as Kabalega National Park, is Uganda’s oldest and largest safari park, located 305 kilometers north of Kampala in Masindi District. Established as a wildlife reserve in 1926, it is home to 76 mammal species and 451 bird species. The park features the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile plunges 45 meters, creating stunning rapids over 80 kilometers. This area, part of the Murchison Falls Conservation Area, offers one of Uganda’s best wildlife experiences, accessible through Namib Safaris.

Murchison Falls National Park boasts diverse wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, Nile crocodiles, and various aquatic birds. Historical visitors have included Winston Churchill and Ernest Hemingway.

Visitors can enjoy wildlife safaris, launch trips to the falls, hikes to Devil’s Cauldron, birdwatching, and nature walks. Launch trips are popular for their close views of the falls, while hot air balloon rides offer aerial views of the wildlife.

The park features savannah, riverine forest, and woodland, housing species like kobs, Rothschild giraffes, hartebeests, leopards, lions, and numerous birds.
