5 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in western Uganda, approximately 389 KM from Kampala, accessible via a 6-hour 30-minute drive through Masaka or by chartered flight. Established in 1954 and named after the Queen of England, the park covers 700 square miles and features Lakes George and Albert, along with the Kazinga Channel.

The park is famous for its rich biodiversity, hosting 618 bird species Africa’s highest and 10 primate species, including chimpanzees, as well as 95 mammal species.

Key attractions include the tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, boat rides on the Kazinga Channel with hippos and crocodiles, the antelope-rich Kasenyi Plains, chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu Forest and Kyambura Gorge, game drives on the Mweya Peninsula, historical Lake Katwe Salt Works, and the scenic Katwe Explosion Crater Lakes with views of the Rwenzori Mountains and surrounding landscapes.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe. If time allows, consider a city tour to see landmarks like Kabaka's Palace, Bahai Temple, and Uganda National Museum. Journey Time: 45 minutes – 1 hour
After an early breakfast, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a lunch stop in Fort Portal. Visit the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves and cross the Kasese equator line for photos. Arrive at your hotel, check in, and enjoy dinner while relaxing in nature. Journey Time: 6 – 7 hours
After breakfast, discover the park's highlights, including crater lakes like Nyamunuka and Munyanyange. Visit Lake Katwe to learn about salt mining. Spend the evening at leisure back at the lodge.
After breakfast, you'll venture to the Kasenyi Plains for a guided lion tracking experience with rangers using radio collars to locate the lions. This thrilling activity lasts about three hours and is a highlight of your visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, offering exceptional wildlife views. Look out for hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and various water birds. Afterward, return to your lodge with a short evening game drive, ending the day with a beautiful sunset.
Enjoy an early breakfast, check out, and head to Entebbe via Mbarara and Masaka. Stop at the Equator for photos, demonstrations, lunch, and souvenirs before continuing to Entebbe for your flight.
