4 Days Batwa Community and Gorilla Safari
Get ready for an exciting 4-day adventure in the stunning southwestern part of Uganda. This journey is all about wildlife, vibrant culture, and jaw-dropping scenery. You’ll have the chance to go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. With friendly and experienced rangers by your side, you’ll hike through lush rainforest for a magical encounter with a gorilla family in their natural habitat.
But that’s not all! You’ll also get to meet the Batwa community, the original inhabitants of the forest. They will share their incredible traditions, stories, and survival skills, giving you a unique glimpse into their way of life.
After an exhilarating trek, you can relax at the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, often called the “Switzerland of Africa” for its stunning islands and terraced hills. Enjoy some delightful canoe rides, leisurely nature walks, and breathtaking views over the lake.
On your way back to Kampala, we stop at the Equator line. Snap some fun photos and watch a cool water balance experiment. To wrap up your adventure, you’ll visit the Igongo Cultural Center, a wonderful spot to dive into Ankole culture. Here, you can explore an engaging heritage museum and treat yourself to delicious traditional Ugandan food.
This tour is the perfect mix of excitement, culture, and relaxation, ideal for anyone looking for a memorable and genuine Ugandan experience.

Briefing for gorilla trekking takes place at 7:30am and is conducted by the Warden and his team of Rangers at the park offices. All gorilla trackers must be at the park by this time and attend the briefing which is an overview of what to expect during the gorilla trekking. A gorilla safari in Bwindi forest offers you several gorilla groups to choose from. The Rangers will take into consideration your overall fitness. Gorilla tracking is challenging but you will find the experience awesome once you see the primates. You could spend hours just watching the little ones roll around and play. Mountain Gorillas are very playful and curious – don’t be surprised if they come too close to you. While with the gorillas, its important to listen to instructions from your guide. Never make sudden movements while with mountain gorillas.
After spending one hour with the gorilla family, you will be led back to the starting point where our Guide/Driver will be waiting to take you back for lunch at your hotel. You will head out to visit the Batwa Pygmy cultural community in the afternoon. As noted earlier, the Batwa originally lived in the forest but often had conflicts with the gorillas. The government decided to relocate them elsewhere to allow for smoother gorilla conservation activities.
